Japanese Tea Garden 100th Anniversary
As a special tribute to the 100th year anniversary of the Japanese Tea
Garden located in the Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, Lewis Merlo, Inc. was commissioned
by the Friends of Recreation and Parks to design and install two concrete bases
to support two large bronze lanterns which are from the Meija era (1868-1912). We also
created the pedestal support and surrounding pavement to present the
Buddhist pagoda which is bounded by the "mizugaki," a Shento shrine fence in
traditional picket form. |
